After a scoreless first half, Austin Radar got the scoring started midway through the second half for the Collierville Dragons who got past Clarksville with a 2-1 win in the sectional championship at Dragon Stadium on Saturday (May 20). Radar had a header off a corner kick from Olly Colgan. Cooper Williams would then find the back of the net with 15 minutes remaining in the contest which proved to be the game-winner. Clarksville scored near the end of regulation but ran out of time to even the score.
With the win, the Dragons will head back to familiar territory at the TSSAA State Tournament next week. Collierville (15-3-2) will open play against Hardin Valley (12-4-6) on Tuesday at 1:30pm. All games are held at the Richard Siegel Soccer Complex in Murfreesboro.
