Memphis, TN — The Collierville High School football team maintained its perfect record this season with an impressive 42-0 victory over White Station on Thursday night. The Dragons displayed dominance on both sides of the ball, showcasing a potent offense and a stout defense.
Collierville wasted no time getting on the board, taking advantage of a miscue by White Station. A bad snap on a punt attempt sailed into the end zone, resulting in a safety and an early 2-0 lead for the Dragons. On their first offensive possession, kicker Grayson Lytton extended the lead with a 41-yard field goal.
The first quarter saw the Dragons continue to build momentum. Running back John Hampton found the end zone with a rushing touchdown, followed by a 34-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Grant Troutman to wide receiver Bradley Stubbs. By the end of the first quarter, Collierville led 18-0.
In the second quarter, the Dragons kept their foot on the gas. Lytton connected on another field goal, this time from 30 yards, before Hampton bulldozed his way into the end zone from two yards out. Troutman capped off the first half with a quarterback keeper, giving Collierville a commanding 35-0 lead at halftime.
The scoring continued in the third quarter when backup quarterback Cayson Stanford punched in a touchdown on another QB keeper, bringing the final score to 42-0.
Troutman had a standout performance, completing 11 of 15 pass attempts for 160 yards, while Stubbs led the receiving corps with three catches for 63 yards and a touchdown. Defensively, the Dragons recorded their second shutout of the season.
Collierville will enjoy a bye week next week before returning home on October 18th to take on the Cordova Wolves, aiming to keep their perfect season intact.
