The Collierville High School volleyball team year in and year out seeks out top-tier competition, a strategy that has consistently kept them at the top of the state rankings. In 2024, this approach remains unchanged, with Head Coach Lindsey Vicknair's squad off to another strong start.
This weekend, the Dragons face one of their toughest tests yet as they compete in Middle Tennessee for the annual Border Battle. Hosted by Summit High School and held at the TOA Sports Performance Center in Franklin, this tournament brings together some of the best teams in the south.
Collierville began their tournament play on Friday afternoon in their pool play bracket with a challenging match against Brentwood. The Dragons experienced a setback in the first set, losing 19-25. Despite a strong comeback attempt in Set 2, which ended in a tight 27-29 loss, Collierville showed resilience.
In their second game of the day, the Dragons rebounded impressively, defeating Green Hill with set scores of 25-17 and 25-22. This split leaves Collierville with a crucial matchup on the horizon. They are set to face Valor College Prep Saturday morning at 8 a.m. in what promises to be an exciting contest.
With a season record of 18-4, the Dragons are poised to make a significant impact in the Border Battle, continuing their tradition of excellence into the championship bracket play.
