Knoxville, TN -- The 2026 athletics season came to a close on Thursday, May 21, and Collierville High School’s Women’s Track & Field team made sure it ended in historic fashion. The Lady Dragons, the final team still competing this school year, captured their third consecutive TSSAA state championship at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.
Despite less-than-ideal weather conditions throughout the meet, Collierville showed its depth, resilience, and championship pedigree. Under the leadership of head coach Alisa Seymour, the Lady Dragons not only defended their title—they elevated their performance to another level.
After setting a Division I state record with 155 team points in 2025, Collierville surpassed that mark this year, finishing with an incredible 161 points to secure the title in commanding fashion.
Field Events Set the Tone
Competition opened with strong performances in the field events. Ehi Aigbomian (Class of 2027) led the way, capturing the state championship in the triple jump with a mark of 38 feet, 4.25 inches. She also added a runner-up finish in the shot put with a throw of 41-5, contributing valuable early points.
Record-Breaking Performances
Junior Ava Williams delivered one of the most remarkable moments of the meet, clearing 13 feet, 9 inches in the pole vault to set a new state record. On the track, the 4x400-meter relay team of Addison Young, Cali Gillard, Anna Buckhold, and Kennedi Woods closed out the meet in spectacular fashion. The quartet clocked a time of 3:47.24, breaking the previous state mark of 3:47.32 set by Collierville just last year.
Dominance Across Events
Senior Khari Webb capped off an outstanding meet with multiple titles. After winning the pentathlon earlier in the week, Webb claimed gold in the high jump (5-4) and the 300-meter hurdles (41.98), while also finishing second in the 100-meter dash. Kylie Walden also delivered a stellar performance, winning the 200-meter dash in 24.01 seconds. She added a second-place finish in the 100 and placed fourth in the 400, just behind teammate Kennedi Woods, who finished third.
A Historic Achievement
Collierville’s third consecutive state championship places the Lady Dragons among the elite programs in Tennessee history. They become the first girls track & field team to win three straight titles since Whitehaven accomplished the feat from 2015 to 2017.
With record-breaking performances, individual champions, and unmatched team depth, the 2026 Lady Dragons solidified their legacy as the most dominant program in the state.
