Fayetteville, AR – The Collierville High School cross country teams delivered an outstanding performance this past weekend at the prestigious Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival, competing against top talent from 75 schools.
In the girls' caliente 5K race, the team secured a remarkable Top 10 finish, showcasing their strength and depth. Leading the Dragon pack was Scarlett Nash, who clocked an impressive time of 19:00. Freshman sensation Gabrielle Gulstrom closely followed with a time of 19:08.7, setting a strong pace for the team. Marina Kavouras finished with a time of 19:38.2, while Maggie Webber rounded out the scoring with a solid performance at 19:46.90.
The boys' team also put forth an admirable effort, finishing 17th out of 96 scoring teams. Ty Durst led the Dragons with a stellar time of 16:07.60. He was supported by Jacob Roper, who finished in 16:32.20, followed by Thatcher Groce (16:44.70), Caden Lindsay (16:51), and Georgios Kavouras (16:56.60), all of whom finished under 17 minutes.
Overall, it was a fantastic showing for both teams. The Dragons rwill look to build on the momentum as they prepare for the Jesse Owens Invitational in Oakville, Alabama this weekend.
