Franklin, TN — The Collierville High School volleyball team delivered a remarkable performance at the 2024 Border Battle, held at the TOA Performance Center in Franklin this past weekend. The Dragons concluded the tournament with a commanding victory over national powerhouse Metairie Park (LA), securing both sets 25-19 and 25-21.

The Dragons’ path to the championship match was nothing short of thrilling. On Saturday morning, they fought through a nail-biting pool play game against Valor College Prep, emerging victorious in a dramatic 2-1 finish. After a closely contested first set, which Collierville won 26-24, Valor College Prep took the second set 25-20. The final set proved to be a heart-stopper, with the Dragons edging out their opponents 18-16.

Following the pool play, Collierville faced Hazel Green (AL) in a crucial challenge match to secure a spot in the gold bracket. The Dragons rose to the occasion with a decisive 2-0 victory, winning 25-19 and 25-13. This win set up a rematch against Brentwood, who had defeated Collierville 2-0 the previous day. The Dragons avenged their earlier loss by defeating Brentwood, advancing them to the tournament's final four.

In the semifinals, Collierville showcased their dominance by ousting Green Hill with set scores of 26-24 and 25-14. The win earned them a spot in the championship match against Metairie Park.

In the finals, Collierville’s resilience and skill were on full display as they captured the title with straight-set victories over Metairie Park (25-19, 25-21).

With a season record of 23-4, Collierville Volleyball is poised to continue their winning ways. They will look to build on this momentum as they prepare to face Houston on Monday in Germantown.
