Collierville High School Announces Hall of Fame Veteran Coach, Buster Kelso, To Lead Bowling Teams

Collierville, Tenn. – Collierville High School announced Friday that Buster Kelso has been named the Dragons’ new head bowling coach. This will be the the first stint as a bowling coach for Kelso, the winningest coach in the history of Tennessee high school baseball. The veteran accounting teacher spent 36 years as the Head Baseball Coach at Christian Brothers High School winning nine state titles. Kelso joined Collierville High School as a faculty member at the beginning of the 2023 school year.

“We are thrilled to announce Coach Buster Kelso as the new bowling coach at Collierville High School,” said Principal Roger Jones. “With his coaching passion and dedication to fostering talent, we are excited to see how he will inspire our student-athletes and lead our bowling team to a championship pedigree. Welcome aboard, Coach Kelso!”

The Collierville High School boys’ bowling team finished 3-5 during the 2023-24 season. The girls’ bowling team finished as Regional Runners-Up with an overall 4-6 record, falling to eventually state champion Hardin County in the Sectional Championship.
