The Collierville men's soccer team rebounded from a gut wrenching district championship loss and claimed the Region Championship with a 2-0 clean sheet victory over Bartlett on Thursday (May 18).
Fueled by the recent loss, a pair of senior leaders connected with the back of net to give the Dragons the win. Just before the end of the 1st half, Luke Johnson scored the team's first goal and gave the team the necessary momentum leading into the second half. It wouldn't take long for the Dragons to add to the lead as Cooper Williams scored from outside the box - making it 2-0 and the eventual final. Bartlett had limited opportunities to score for the duration of the contest.
Both teams will now advance to the Sectional on Saturday. With the regional title, Collierville will take home field advantage against Region 7 Runner-up, Clarksville. Game time has yet to be announced.
The Collierville-Clarksville winner will advance to next week's spring fling.
