After leading comfortably for the duration of the first six innings, the Northpoint Crusaders made it interesting in the top of 7th against the Collierville Dragons on Thursday at Forklift Field. Northpoint would put up a six spot in the top of the 7th and took their first lead of the night, 10-9. Collierville answered the challenge in the bottom half with a pair of runs and took the victory, 11-10. The Dragons are now 5-1 on the season.
MacKenzie Guess led off the bottom of the 7th with a single to left field. Kate Hogan followed with a double to deep center - scoring Guess and tying the game. Pinch-hitter Sara Depperman then singled up the middle to bring in the game-winner. Hogan was 3-for-5 with three RBI's. Molly Davis went 3-for-4 with 1 RBI. Blue Mountain College signee Maryn Macri was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and three RBI's.
Also contributing to the Dragons offensive attack was starting pitcher Emma Wolfe with two hits. Wolfe picked up the win in the circle while striking out eight.
Collierville will have a good challenge Friday, versus Millington, in hopes to earn victory number 6.
