A typical plan for any sports team is to get better each and every game. That certainly looks to be the case for the Collierville High School Volleyball team as the Dragons are off to a hot start to begin the month of September.

After losing a set in their 8am game against St. Louis' Oakville High School on Saturday, the Dragons dominated the rest of the day en route to claim their own Volley In The Ville Championship.

Collierville defeated Oakville 25-13, 19-25, 15-8 and followed by a convincing victory over Desoto Central 25-12, 25-23 that sent the team to the tournament's gold bracket. For the second day in a row, the Dragons defeated Brentwood Academy 25-22, 25-21 and for the second time this year; defeated St. Agnes 25-16, 25-18 to win the championship.

Desoto Central defeated Bartlett to win the tournament's silver bracket.

Collierville (13-3) is now winners of nine straight. They will get the opportunity to win a 10th in a row, Tuesday, when they travel to Brighton for a 6pm district clash.
