On Saturday morning in Tuscaloosa, the girls cross-country team won the ACA Invitational. It was the first championship for the girls squad after finishing 3rd in 2019 and 2nd in 2020.

Leading the Lady Dragons was sophomore Bella Carothers who finished second overall and recorded a personal best 20:58 over the 5k course. Following in quick succession with a 1-5 pack time of 23 seconds were Ava Lang, Emma Hurlbut, Scarlett Nash, and Allie Timms. Rounding out the Top 10 and also receiving medals were Maggie Webber, Lauren Moerbe, and Maya McCloskey. Freshmen Emily Maxwell took 11th.

The girls are 2-0 to start the season. They will compete this weekend at Arlington High School.
