The Collierville Lady Dragons dropped their match against host school Siegel in a heartbreaking five set quarterfinals showdown of the TSSAA AAA state volleyball tournament.
After losing the first set, 25-20, the Lady Dragons raced back to win in set 2 and set 3 (25-16, 25-13).
Siegel pulled away late in set 4 (25-22) and controlled set 5, 15-6, to advance.
It was a great year and state tournament appearance for the Lady Dragons. They will graduate two seniors, Tia Rizvi and Madison McWhorter, but look to be ready to contend again for a title run in 2021.
Siegel will play Brentwood in the state championship, Friday, at 4pm.
