The Collierville High School Lady Dragons soccer team returned to action over the weekend after a two-week hiatus. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the Lady Dragons had not played since the season opener versus Arlington on August 27th. The team came back in exceptional form after a short week of practice.

Collierville participated in the annual Rivals Classic, hosted by Houston High School, and defeated two Jackson, Mississippi teams. On Saturday, the Lady Dragons ousted Jackson Academy 7-0 and responded with another shut out win over Jackson Prep, 2-0, Sunday.

Abby Johnson, Sophia Cherry (4), Emerson Suhoza, and Ameilia Jacobs all had goals for the Lady Dragons against Jackson Academy.

Senior Sydney Davis got the Dragons on the board early in the 1st half against Jackson Prep and Cherry added a goal, her fifth for the weekend, just before the end of the 1st half.

Goalkeepers Maggie Ward and Abby Norwood combined on the pair of clean sheets.

The Lady Dragons (3-0) will return to action on Tuesday versus Briarcrest Christian. The team will recognize this year's senior class prior to the contest.
