Collierville Mountain Biking Finishes 6th at State Championships

The Collierville Mountain Biking Team, with student riders from high school and both middle schools, ended its season November 3rd in Sewanee, TN at the State Championships. Each grade division does at least one lap of four miles with up to five laps or 20 miles.

Collierville High School finished season ranked 6th among 28 teams. State Championship finishers for high school were juniors Gage King, who took fourth overall, and Benjamin Simcoe, who took fifth overall, out of 84 riders completing 12 -16 mile courses this season.

Collierville Middle School is ranked fourth among 23 teams in the National Interscholastic Cycling Association. Top finishers were Eighth grader Isabella Donnelly with third place overall.

Tanner Smithart, Kyra Goestch, Haley Brown, Amber Hong, and Hudson Shuford all represented well by ranking in the top ten of their divisions overall.

The season included five races staged across the state. They included races in Gallatin, Columbia, Memphis, Morristown, and Sewanee, TN. Each location presented new terrain challenges for our local riders. Collierville Middle School team has twenty-three riders and Collierville High school has fifteen riders.
