Franklin, TN -- Tennessee basketball fans and college coaches got an opportunity to evaluate an intriguing Collierville High School men’s basketball team Friday at the annual Basketball Coaches Association of Tennessee (BCAT) Hoopfest.

The BCAT Live Period brings NCAA-certified events to the state, allowing high school student-athletes to compete in front of college coaches during designated recruiting windows. Collierville’s opening day featured a pair of contests at the TOA Sports Performance Center in Franklin.

The Dragons tipped off at 3 p.m. against a talented McCallie squad and came out strong, taking a five-point lead into halftime. Despite the early advantage, McCallie caught fire in the second half, using several scoring runs to pull ahead and hand Collierville a 53–42 loss.

Collierville regrouped quickly for Game 2, facing Memphis-area opponent Ridgeway later in the evening. The Dragons and Roadrunners battled to a 10–10 tie at the end of the first quarter before Collierville seized control. Behind a balanced offensive effort and strong defensive play, the Dragons dominated the remainder of the game, cruising to a 45–32 victory.

College coaches representing programs such as Tennessee, Memphis, Ole Miss, Louisiana-Monroe, Cincinnati, and Murray State were among those in attendance, providing valuable exposure for the Dragons’ roster.

Collierville will return to action Saturday morning with a 9 a.m. matchup against Maryville at the TOA Sports Performance Center. The Dragons will close out the BCAT Hoopfest at noon against Stewarts Creek, with the final contest set to tip off at Christ Presbyterian Academy in Nashville.
