Horn Lake, MS — After falling in overtime to Oxford last week, the Collierville Dragons once again found themselves in a nail-biter against a Mississippi opponent. This time, they FINISHED the job.
Lawrence Autry, a Tulane commit, capped off a dominant performance with a 3-yard touchdown run with just 37 seconds remaining, lifting the Dragons to a 39-35 road win over Horn Lake. The senior running back was unstoppable, racking up 258 yards on 26 carries and scoring twice, including a 2-yard touchdown in the third quarter.
The Dragons (2-1) leaned on their offensive firepower to overcome a relentless Horn Lake squad. Quarterback Brayden Santibanez threw a pair of touchdown passes — a 22-yarder to Emanuel Palmer and a 15-yard strike to future Memphis Tiger Marshall Smith Jr.
Horn Lake (1-1) showcased explosive playmaking of its own. Senior Floyd Sinegal was electric, returning a kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown and adding rushing scores of 56 and 12 yards. He finished with 133 yards on 19 carries. Linkin Sanders also broke loose for a 72-yard touchdown run, and quarterback Jason Edwards Jr. connected with Lance McGowen for a 30-yard score in the first half.
Despite the Eagles’ big plays and a trick-play touchdown on fourth-and-goal in the third quarter, Collierville’s resilience proved decisive. A key interception by Tae Walden Jr. in the second quarter helped swing momentum, and the Dragons’ final drive — capped by Autry’s game-winner — sealed a statement win on the road.
