The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced Collierville's Alisa Seymour the winner of its 11th annual High School Track & Field Coaches of the Year Presented by the United States Marine Corps.

One boys coach and one girls coach from 50 states – as well as the District of Columbia – were honored for their successes during the spring of 2025, as selected by a committee of experts from around the nation (two coaches are honored, if they share coaching responsibilities).

State-by-state winners were selected based on their teams’ performances throughout the 2025 outdoor track & field season. Among the factors taken into consideration were team score and placement at the state championships, margin of victory, performance against rankings if available, individual championships, and how their teams’ performances stacked up to previous years (e.g. first title in school history, consecutive titles, etc.).

Each honoree will receive a trophy from the USTFCCCA recognizing their achievements.

The winners from each state are in consideration for the Association’s National High School Track & Field Coach of the Year award. One boys coach and one girls coach from among all the states will be selected by a panel of experts and be announced next week as the national winners.

Seymour was also named the 2025 Daily Memphian Coach of the Year, a recognition that reflects both her leadership and the sheer dominance of her program on the biggest stage.

Under Seymour’s guidance, the Lady Dragons scored an eye-popping 155 points at the Class AAA state meet — nearly doubling the total of runner-up Bartlett — to repeat as state champions. The margin of victory was as decisive as it was historic, cementing Collierville’s place as a powerhouse in Tennessee high school track and field.

Seymour becomes the first head coach to lead a Memphis-area team to back-to-back titles in the state’s largest public-school classification since Whitehaven accomplished the feat in 2016 and 2017.

The Dragons’ depth and versatility were on full display in Murfreesboro, with standout junior Khari Webb accounting for 48 points alone. But it was the collective strength across multiple events — from sprints to relays to field events — that underscored Seymour’s comprehensive coaching and team development.

With Collierville continuing to set the standard, Seymour’s latest honor is a well-earned milestone in what has become a golden era for the program.

And, stay tuned for what's ahead.
