The Collierville Lady Dragons had a little fun Saturday afternoon, clinching their first District 15-AAAA Tournament championship since 2021 with a commanding run-rule victory over top-seeded Arlington. The No. 3 seeded Lady Dragons defeated the Tigers for the second consecutive game, securing a six-inning win and punching their ticket back to the Regional Tournament after a one-year absence.
Senior pitcher Kendall Harper, a Delta State signee, delivered a stellar performance in the circle, making her second start of the tournament and earning the complete-game victory without surrendering a walk. Harper also sparked the offense, going 2-for-3 at the plate with three RBIs and two runs scored.
Leadoff hitter Ashlyne Gerrey paced the offense with a 3-for-4 outing, driving in four runs and crossing the plate three times. Karington Mitchell and Braylie Wertz added to the offensive outburst with three hits apiece, with Mitchell delivering a towering two-run homer to centerfield as part of her four-RBI performance.
Addison Morgan sealed the win with a walk-off single in the sixth, capping her 2-for-3 day that included two RBIs.
With the district title secured, Collierville now is challenged by Memphis Central (R-Up, D16-AAAA) in Monday’s Regional Semifinals. First pitch is scheduled for 4:30 p.m at Forklift Field.
