PHILADELPHIA, Penn. – The Collierville High School Women’s Track and Field team delivered a historic performance at the prestigious Penn Relays on Saturday, breaking a Tennessee state record in the 4x400-meter relay and earning a silver finish in the national 4x100 final.

Racing at Franklin Field on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania, the Dragons’ 4x400 squad—Khari Webb, Addison Young, Kylie Walden, and Kennedi Woods—raced to a time of 3:47.32, eclipsing the previous state record held by Southwind High School. The moment carried extra for Collierville Head Coach Alisa Seymour, who also coached the Southwind team that set the previous mark back in 2018.

Remarkably, the record-breaking run came despite a fall. But the Dragons’ discipline and resilience shone through, sealing a performance that will be remembered in Tennessee track history.

The day wasn’t done for Collierville, as the team returned to the track to take second place in the national final of the 4x100, overcoming a weather delay caused by a passing rainstorm. The 4x1 relay featured Kylie Barksdale, Addison Young, Kennedi Woods, and Ehi Aigbomian, who powered through tough competition to secure the podium finish.

With medals around their necks and a state record to their name, the Dragons head back to Tennessee as one of the standout teams of this year’s Penn Relays.
