Collierville, TN – In a one-sided battle on the mat, the Collierville High School women’s wrestling team cruised to victory over Millington Central High School in a recent matchup on senior night. The event, held at Collierville High School, saw the Lady Dragons win by a commanding margin, with several standout performances and dominant falls.
Collierville’s Justine Su wasted no time in asserting her dominance, pinning Serenity Green from Millington Central in just 47 seconds at 107 pounds. It was one of many quick victories for the Collierville team, which showcased their experience and technique.
At 114 pounds, Kara Heard followed suit, securing a fall over Millington Central’s Zhara White-Chepkwony in just over three minutes, continuing Collierville’s strong momentum.
Piper Martin from Millington Central briefly gave the visiting team hope, as she pinned Brooklyn Oscaniec of Collierville in a fast 53 seconds at 120 pounds. However, Collierville responded immediately with wins across multiple weight classes.
The Collierville team showed its depth and strength across the board, with Madison Jamieson, Jasmine Morton, Elyse Poloni, and Saha Shamsuddin all securing impressive falls. Notably, Shamsuddin and Poloni both won by forfeit in their respective matches at 138 and 145 pounds, respectively.
Millington Central did have some success on the night, with Morgan Gilley scoring a win for the home team, pinning Julia Heard from Collierville at 152 pounds in 2:47.
The match concluded with a competitive bout at 185 pounds, where Natalie Perry from Collierville edged Madison James of Millington Central in a tightly contested decision, 6-5.
