Collierville, TN — The Collierville High School women’s basketball team continued their remarkable season with a dominant 62-29 victory over Holmes County Central (MS) High School on Saturday afternoon at the 2024 Shan Whiteside Cancer Classic.
From the opening tip-off, the Lady Dragons displayed their characteristic fast start, taking a commanding 19-4 lead after the first quarter. They carried that momentum into the second period, holding a comfortable 32-12 advantage at halftime.
The third quarter saw Collierville's offense reach new heights, as they outscored their opponents 21-12 to extend their lead to 53-24. By the final buzzer, the Lady Dragons had sealed their third consecutive win, finishing with a 62-29 scoreline.
Junior point guard Jekyra Rodgers once again showcased her all-around play, leading the charge for Collierville with a game-high 21 points. The 5’10” floor general has been the cornerstone of the Lady Dragons' success this season, providing stability and leadership in every phase of the game.
With the win, Collierville improves to 11-2 on the season and is now on the brink of a historic achievement—reaching 15 wins before the end of the calendar year. This milestone would mark the program’s best-ever start, and the Lady Dragons have the perfect opportunity to reach it when they return to action against St. George’s to kick off the 2024 Dragon Fire tournament on December 27th at 9 a.m.
