Germantown, TN - Collierville High School’s wrestling team showed exceptional talent and determination at the 2024 Black Horse Invitational, hosted by Houston High School on Saturday, December 7. The Dragons finished in second place overall, a remarkable achievement, with nine wrestlers earning medals across various weight classes.

Sophomore sensation Devin Corbin was the star of the day, claiming the 1st place title at 126 pounds. Corbin’s road to the championship was a display of both skill and resilience. He notched five decisive victories, including wins by decision over Teurlings Catholic and Millington, a technical fall over Summit, another tech fall over Dickson County, and, finally, a pinfall victory in the finals over Memphis Central.

Corbin’s dominant performance earned his team 30 team points and added a significant boost to the Dragons’ overall total.

The Dragons’ collective performance throughout the day was impressive, as they proved to be the top public school in attendance at the event. Collierville finished behind only Father Ryan, who took home the 2024 Black Horse Championship.
