COLLIERVILLE, TN — The Collierville High School Water Polo team is gearing up for the 2024 State Championships after a dominant performance at the West Tennessee Regional. Under the guidance of second-year Head Coach Zach Alford, the Dragons secured their spot in East Tennessee with convincing victories over Houston and Briarcrest Christian, winning 15-7 and 10-6, respectively.
This season has been nothing short of spectacular for Collierville, now boasting a record of 9-4. Key players Will O'Connor, Sanjeev Santhosh, Owen Bradford, and Landon Whalen have been instrumental in the team's success, each earning All-Region honors for their outstanding contributions in the pool.
The Dragons will open their championship run on Saturday at Morristown in the semifinals. With their eyes set on the prize, the team aims to advance to the State Championship match on Sunday at The University of Tennessee Aquatic Complex in Knoxville.
