Collierville High School Mountain Biking  Kicks Off Season with Strong Performance

The Collierville High School Mountain Biking team made an impressive debut in their first race of the season last weekend in Columbia, Tennessee. The Dragons demonstrated their competitive edge with several standout performances across various categories.

Leading the charge for Collierville was Tanner Smithart, who clinched 16th place in the varsity boys' division. Smithart's strong showing highlighted the team’s determination and skill. In the varsity girls' division, Jadyn Jump secured a remarkable Top-10 finish, proving herself as a formidable competitor in the field.

The Junior Varsity Boys' groups also had notable finishes:

Group A: Eli Hong placed 5th, while Brayden Mackiewicz followed closely in 6th. Ty Wilson rounded out the top 30.
Group B: Nick Bentley earned 6th place, with Brett Sidwell finishing in the top 20. Taylor Voye and Tyler Simpson also made significant contributions, finishing in the top 30 and top 40, respectively.
In the Junior Varsity Girls' division, Kate Pennel achieved a commendable 7th place. Kelley Whitehead and Penelope Crespo both finished in the top 20, showcasing their competitive spirit and skill.

The Sophomore Boys' category saw:

Carson Rojahn finishing in 4th place,
George Old in 7th,
Pablo Crespo in the top 30,
Noah Petz in the top 60.
For the Freshman Boys, Briar Bostick finished in the top 20, while Freshman Girls saw Kara Fewell also finish in the top 20.

Overall, the Dragons performed admirably in a competitive field of 13-78 participants in each category. Congratulations to all the riders for their outstanding efforts and impressive results in the first race of the season. With such a strong start, the Collierville High School Mountain Biking team is poised for an exciting season ahead!
