Collierville used a huge sixth inning offensive explosion to get past the Bartlett Panthers on Tuesday at Forklift field. Farrah Gomez collected threes hits, as the Lady Dragons defeated Bartlett 14-7. Gomez singled and doubled in the sixth as well as singled in the fourth.
Collierville won thanks in part to a 10 run sixth inning that saw RBIs by Gomez, Kinsley Scallions, Kendall Harper, Isabella Flanders, Addison Morgan, and Karrington Mitchell.
The Panthers jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the first inning thanks to a single by Molly Williams. Collierville responded in the bottom of the first scoring on a passed ball. In the bottom of the third the Dragons added on with a Sac Fly by Harper and a RBI single by Sara Depperman to grab a 3-1 lead.
Bartlett jumped into the lead in the top of the fourth when Flanders induced Layla Lovik to hit into a fielder's choice scoring one run and Morgan Bonds doubled, scoring two runs. The Dragons responded in the bottom of the frame with a Scallions single that tied the game a 4.
Bartlett took the lead again in the sixth on a two run single by Williams. Kendall Harper earned the win for Collierville by coming in as a reliever in the bottom of the sixth to put an end to the Bartlett threat.
Harper earned the win by giving up zero hits and one run over 1 and 1/3 inning of work. Flanders led things off in the circle for the Dragons surrendering 8 hits and 6 runs while striking out 3.
Your Lady Dragons are next in action on Thursday as they host St. Benedict at Forklift Field. First pitch is slated for 5pm.
