The state's 4th ranked Collierville Dragons baseball team came up short to the 8th ranked Arlington Tigers, 3-1, Monday evening at Patriot Bank Park.

The Tigers took a 1-0 lead in the second inning and added a pair of runs in the 5th inning. Collierville tried to rally in the bottom of the 7th, but were only able to cross the plate once with an RBI single by Austin Smith that scored Hayden Short. Smith and Short both had two hits on the night.

Thomas Crabtree suffered his first loss on the season. Crabtree went 6 innings, allowed five hits, walked just one, and fanned a very impressive 12 Tigers. Two of three runs given were earned.

Collierville (22-4) will have the opportunity to even the series Tuesday night. The two teams will go head-to-head again in what could be the deciding factor for the no. 1 seed in the district tournament. The rematch is set at the Ballpark of Arlington, 6:30pm, on the campus of AHS.
