Thomas Crabtree, making a case for player of the year, pitched 5.2 innings, limiting Marion (AR) to no runs on two hits with 10 strikeouts, firing 97 pitches in the outing en route to leading Collierville Baseball to a 3-0 victory Monday night at Patriot Bank Park. Fellow flame thrower, Keaton Baird, would get the final four outs to earn the save. Baird, a Harding University signee, allowed no runs, no hits, walked none, and struck out a trio.
Collierville got on the board in the first inning when Nathan Myers scored on a passed ball. Joey Caruso when come up clutch in the fifth inning delivering a 2-out, 2-run single.
Crabtree also continued to stay hot at the plate. The East Tennessee State signee had two hits, inlacing a double, to pace the Dragons offense. Hayden Short added a double.
The Diamond Dragons improved to 18-3 on the year.
