A trio of Dragons ended the night with multi-hit efforts as Collierville Baseball cruised past Germantown, 17-0, in a mercy rule contest on Wednesday night at historic Red Devil Field. The shutout win marked the second consecutive victory for the Diamond Dragons as they begin their 2023 campaign. Collierville defeated Briarcret Christian (Eads, TN), 5-4, on a walk-off single at Monday's season opener.
6'4, 200 pound 1st baseman, Brody Winemiller, was a single away from the cycle. The sophomore belted a pair of home runs, doubled, and tripled to pace the Dragons offensive attack. Pittsburgh transfer, sophomore Cael Allen, had a pair of hits and Trey Peterson singled twice.
Southpaw Tanish Gadiraju (1-0) picked up his first career win on the mound for the Dragons.
Collierville will look to win their third straight at the friendly confines of Patrick Bank Park today (Thurs., March 15) versus Rossviiew. First pitch is scheduled for 3pm.
