Leading at the end of the 1st quarter 19-16 after a Carlyn Burdette three-pointer, the Collierville Lady Dragons would continue to need heroic type performances to defeat a strong and deep Bartlett team in the Regional semifinal at Houston High School on Monday night. The junior sharp shooter and teammate, sophomore phenom Hilary Shikuku, were more than capable to make it happen. Their efforts, along with the advancement of high caliber play from sophomore Emily Maxwell, fell short 81-68 to the Lady Panthers to end the season in the sweet sixteen matchup.

Shikuku was phenomenal with a game-high and career-high 34 points. Burdette finished with 13 points and Maxwell had a dozen.

The future is bright for the Collierville High School women's basketball team with the three prospective Division I players returning; along with other talented players that garnished quality minutes in 2022-23. Add one of the top incoming freshman classes in the state and the Lady Dragons will be poised to return to the big stage in hopes to make their first state tournament appearance since the Nikki McCray glory days.
