About that "you want to be playing your best basketball come post-season" storyline . . .

In a season certainly with it's ups and downs, the Collierville High School Lady Dragons have positioned themselves again as one of the top teams in the state with a pair of recent crucial wins in the 2022-23 post-season.

In an elimination game Friday night at Memphis Central in the Region opener, the Lady Dragons had a statement win by defeating District 16-AAAA no. 2 seed Memphis Central, 58-42.

The win is the team's second in a row after Collierville defeated Houston, 43-33, to win the 3rd place game of the District 15-AAAA tournament.

A big challenge is now at task on Monday when the Lady Dragons will play Bartlett in the region semifinals. It's another win or go home.

Arlington and Whitehaven will play in the other Region 8 bracket game.

The two winners will play for the Region Championship with both teams advancing to the Sectional.
