Focusing on defense and composure in the post-season, the Collierville women's basketball team held Houston to just 33 points in a 43-33 victory on Tuesday in the 3rd place game of the District 15-AAAA Tournament inside My Town Movers Fieldhouse.

For the 7th time in the last eight contests between the two league schools, the Dragons have been victorious. The latest win will send the Lady Dragons to Memphis Central on Friday for a first round match-up in the Region Tournament. Houston will play at Whitehaven as the top four teams in the district do advance.

Both teams got off to a sluggish start with a Collierville lead, 7-4, at the end of one quarter of play.

Collierville would get hot in the second quarter and extend the lead to 19-12 at the half.

The Lady Dragons outscored the Lady Mustangs in the second half, 24-21, to prevail with the 10-point win.
