After facing just 25 hitters and one hour and 48 minutes, Collierville baseball's Grayson Saunier secured a two-hit complete game shutout in a 2-0 victory against one of the best teams in Tennessee Friday, May 20 from Patriot Bank Park.

The pure athletic right-hander befuddled a Henry County team from Paris. Saunier consistenly induced a groundout, or a flyout, and fanned ten. The University of Mississippi signee permitted just two singles and one base on balls. Sixty-eight of his ninety-five pitches were strikes.

Offensively, the Dragons executed situational hitting at its finest in the third inning. Braden Sheals led off with a single and J.D. Whitworth drew a walk. Austin Smith bunted the two over and left-handed hitter Joey Caruso had a RBI ground-out to his pull side.

Saunier, who's also a threat at the plate, would help his own cause with a two-out single that scored Tyler Hedin in the bottom of the sixth. Collierville 2 Henry County 0. Final.

Pitching for the Diamond Dragons as of recent has been incredible. The Collierville arms have thrown back-to-back-to-back shutouts and the starting pitchers stamina is as strong as one could be. Saunier is the perfect example of getting better each and every outing. He followed his partners in crime, Ryan Neilson and Thomas Crabtree, stealing this gem of his own.

Next up for the hot playing Dragons will be the TSSAA State Championships. Brackets are yet to be released, but opening play will begin on Tuesday. Joining Collierville at Spring Fling in Class AAAA are as follows: Knoxville Powell, Knoxville Farragut, Stewarts Creek, Riverdale, Hendersonville, Centennial, and Houston.
