The Collierville High School baseball team (31-9) shutout a good Arlington team in a pitcher's duel, 1-0 to advance into the winners bracket of the District 15 AAAA tournament. The only roar for the Tigers was a 2-out, 7th inning, base hit that broke up a heroic performance by Collierville senior right-hander Ryan Neilson. The Radford University commit was lights out through 7, allowing just the one hit, and striking out 10 for the complete game shutout.

Senior shortstop Cade Leatherwood had two hits, including a double, to lead the Dragons offensively. Collierville scored their lone run in the bottom of the sixth. Senior catcher Christian Dunn doubled and courtesy runner, Tyler Hedin, would eventually score on a wild pitch.

Collierville will match up with Houston, the tournament's #1 seed, Monday. First pitch is scheduled for 7pm in the double elimination setting. Prior to the winners bracket game, Arlington will face Bartlett at 4pm in an elimination contest. All games are being played at Houston's Bill Avant Field.
