Senior Grayson Saunier went 2-for-3 with a home run and drove in 3 runs as Collierville Baseball defeated Hardin County 12-4, in a game played at Scotts Hill High School Friday (April 15).

Saunier recorded one of the teams three home runs in the first of two games on Friday. Fellow classmates Cade Leatherwood and Grant Ross also homered for the Dragons. Both Ross and Leatherwood were 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI.

Ross was the winning pitcher on the mound. The 6'3, 200 pound left-hander did not allow an earned run and struck out eight in 4.2 innings of work.

In game 2 on the day, Collierville defeated Jackson South Side 6-3. Down 3-2 in the 4th inning, Collierville took the lead with a pair of runs and added insurance by crossing the plate in the sixth and seventh innings to secure the win. Leadoff hitter, Joey Caruso, had three hits with a triple and a run scored to pace the Dragons offense. Thomas Crabtree was 2-for-3 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI. Braden Sheals had another respectable outing on the bump giving the team 4.1 innings of work and striking out eight. Caruso would earn the save by registering the final five outs of the game.

Collierville (20-6) will conclude the mid-April weekend trip to the Jackson area Saturday afternoon. The Dragons are scheduled to play South Gibson, 1pm, at Freed Hardeman University.
