Over the past four years the Collierville Women's Basketball has continued improvement each year. A lot of credit goes to the Class of 2022 and the daily grind they instilled into the program. On Monday night in Region 8 AAAA Tournament Semifinals, the grind was obvious as the team left it all on the floor - and some.

Trailing the majority of the game by double digits, the Lady Dragons never quit. With :3.6 seconds to go in regulation, the team in maroon kept grinding and would tie it at 47 on a Jordan Harris bucket inside. Harris was fouled and was short on the and-one that sent the game into overtime.

At the end of overtime, Harris would connect on two free throws to give the Lady Dragons a 54-52 lead with :4.0 seconds to go. Arlington's Alindsey Long would then inbounds the pass, get a return pass, drive 3/4 of the floor and connect on a three point shot just behind the arc, at the buzzer, for the Tigers win.

It was arguably the best high school girls basketball game in the state for the 2021-22 season. Unfortunately, one team would have the agony of defeat. The Collierville Lady Dragons can only keep their heads high as this year's team had the best season for the program in over 20 years with a record of 21-9.
