In a back-and-forth second half battle, Chicago Simeon made more plays down the stretch than Collierville and handed the Dragons their first loss of the season, a 64-62 defeat in the Collierville Classic on Saturday (Nov. 27) inside My Town Movers Fieldhouse.

Collierville (3-1), coming off three decisive wins to open the season, stayed toe-to-toe with the perennial power out of Illinois, and had as large as a six-point lead in the second half. But Simeon (2-0) prevailed with it's height advantage and knocking down free throws at the end.

It was a career night for point guard Phil Dotson. The senior hit five three-pointers and had 29 points to lead the Dragons offensively. Junior power forward Alex Vandenbergh had 12 points.

The Dragons will build from the positives, make adjustments, and will be back on the hardware Tuesday versus Harding Academy in hopes to get back on the winning track. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30pm in the MTM.
