The 2021-22 basketball season got underway Tuesday night (Nov. 16) inside My Town Movers Fieldhouse. The Lady Dragons built a 30-16 halftime lead in their season opener against South Panola and cruised to a 59-43 victory. Jordan Harris led the offensive efforts with 15 points.

The men's basketball team then delivered a strong performance of their own by defeating the Tigers 64-37. It should be an exciting season for both squads.

Former University of Memphis star and NBA player, Cedric Henderson, picked up his first win at the helm for the Dragons for the boys. Collierville was led offensively by junior Alex Vanderbergh and seniors Alec Tipton and Chris Sims all with 12 points. Senior Phil Dotson added 11 points.

Both teams will be back in action on Saturday. The men will face Fayette Academy at 11am, followed by the girls' game against the Vikings at 2pm. The games are part of the TSSAA Hall of Champions event.
