Brayden Hendricks and Caulen Dunn had a blocked punt that was recovered in the end zone by Gyasi Wallace to give the Collierville Dragons an early 7-0 lead at Cordova Friday night (Sept. 17). Hendricks would later have a scoop and score as the Dragons defense continued to attack opponents in the 2021 season. Collierville held the Wolves to a total of 130 yards that included minus-16 from the ground game. They have not surrendered more than one touchdown to an opponent this season.

The defensive performance helped the Dragons offense to continue and control the majority of the game - and that side of the ball did not disappoint. Houston Wilhelm was 13 of 15 for 201 yards in the air. He would connect with Tyler Collier (14) and Noah Flaskamp (37) for scores. Troy Martin had another 100+ yard rushing game with 114 yards and a touchdown to add to the thumping. Hudson Hollenbeck was 6-6 on extra points and also connected on a 30-yard field goal.

With the win, Collierville improves to 5-0. It is the team's best start since the 1998 campaign. They will face their toughest test to date, next Friday, when they host Whitehaven. Kickoff is scheduled for 7pm at Dragon Stadium at Landers SportsPlex.
