Collierville High School hosted Briarcrest Christian at the Landers SportsPlex Monday (May 4) in both softball and baseball.
At Forklifit Field, the Lady Dragons were able to pull off a 5-4 victory behind the pithing performance of Molly Davis and Sara Depperman. Davis went 6 2/3 innings, allowing four runs, while striking out six. Depperman came in to record the final out for the save. Kate Hogan and Katelyn Harbon each had two hits to lead the offense. Prior to the game, the team recognized seniors Taylor Smrt, Erica Baker and Natalie Christensen.
At Patriot Bank Park, the Diamond Dragons held a 1-0 lead going into the Top of the 5th when Briarcrest scored four runs. The Saints added insurance with a run in the top half of the 6th and 7th innings. The Dragons tried to rally in the bottom of the 7th, but fell short 6-3. Grayson Saunier struck out nine, allowed four runs, all unearned and took the loss.
Collierville Softball improved to 22-5 and Collierville Baseball is now 29-6 on the season.
