Aided by a stellar performance from sophomore Thomas Crabtree and relief assistance from junior Zach Streitmatter, Collierville baseball recorded an 8-0 shutout of the Dyer County Choctaws Wednesday night at Patriot Bank Park.
With the victory, the Dragons improve to 28-5 overall on the season. The Maroon & White pounded out eleven hits and were led by junior shortstop Cade Leatherwood (2-2, 2 RBI).
It was another exceptional night on the mound for the Collierville pitching staff, as the team held an opponent scoreless for the seventh time this season. Crabtree worked 6 and 2/3 innings, striking out six, when exiting just shy of the 100-pitch mark. Streitmatter retired the only batter faced to secure the win.
