Walk-off wins are always fun, but they’re even better when you take one for the team.

One of Wednesday’s heroes was Dylan Powell, taking a hit-by-pitch in the bottom of the eighth inning to give the Diamond Dragons a 2-1 victory over Trinity Christian inside Patriot Bank Park.

The other hero was Braden Sheals. The junior left-hander was stellar on the bump for the Dragons pitching a complete game. He allowed 2 hits and one unearned run. Sheals struck out seven and did not allow a base on balls in the effort.

Collierville collected five hits from Carson Chavies, Grant Ross, Bryce Donels, Thomas Crabtree and Powell.

The Diamond Dragons improve to 21-5 and will host Marion (AR) Thursday night. First-pitch is slated for 6:30pm.
