Ross' No-Hitter Friday; Saturday's Win at Brighton; Leads Dragons Baseball to 20 Wins

The Collierville High School baseball team could be peaking at the right time. When mid-April arrives, the goal is to be in your best form by May. The Dragons had two big wins over the weekend and secured another 20-win season for the eighteenth consecutive year.

On Friday, junior left-hander Grant Ross stole the show. The 6'3/210 dual player was on the mound against the visiting Ripley Tigers. Ross went the full five-innings of the 10 run-rule game, striking out four, allowed three base on balls, but did not allow a hit. He faced sixteen batters. Grayson Saunier led the offensive attack (2-3) with a home run. Seth Leuck, Cade Leatherwood, and Dylan Powell each collected two hits.

On Saturday, the Dragons defeated Brighton (12-11) on the road. Saunier, Ross, Leatherwood, and Thomas Crabtree each had multiple hits. Leatherwood had three RBI's. Braden Sheals got the win in relief, allowing one run and striking out four.

Collierville (20-5) will host Kennett (MO), 4pm, Monday at Patriot Bank Bank.
