Tournament officials with the Postseason WNIT have announced that the My Town Movers Fieldhouse in Collierville, TN, will be one of four regional host sites for the 2021 event, featuring eight teams and both championship and consolation bracket action.

Other sites for the 32-team event are Fort Worth, TX, Charlotte, NC, and Rockford, IL.

The field of teams for the 2021 Postseason WNIT will be announced the evening of March 15, after the brackets for the NCAA Tournament are released. Round 1 play begins in the WNIT on March 19; Rounds 2-3 will take place between March 20-23.

Teams that lose in Round 1 will move to the consolation bracket, with games also being played between March 20-23. Each team in the tournament gets a minimum of two games. The four regional champions will advance to one site for the semifinals and championship game.

“The Memphis Sports Council and Collierville school district staff put an immense amount of effort and ability into making this happen,” said Renee Carlson, executive director of the WNIT. “We know it will be a great site that will be everything our teams need for a successful Postseason WNIT experience.”

The My Town Movers Fieldhouse is located about 30 miles east of downtown Memphis on the campus of Collierville High School, the largest in the state, featuring a game court, two practice courts and multiple locker and meeting rooms. The WNIT will facilitate COVID testing for teams and staff throughout the event and follow local health and safety protocols; rules regarding fan attendance are still to be determined.

"The Memphis Sports Council is ecstatic that the MTM Fieldhouse at Collierville High School will have the opportunity to host high level women's NCAA DI basketball,” said JJ Greer, Sales Manager, Memphis Sports Council. “It's been an absolute joy working with Renee Carlson at Triple Crown Sports and Jeff Curtis with Collierville Schools to bring this prestigious tournament to Shelby County. From the delicious cuisine, to the world-renowned attractions and tremendous outdoor offerings, we're confident the student-athletes, coaches and their supporters will greatly enjoy what Memphis & Shelby County have to offer."

“We are thrilled that the WNIT has selected Memphis and Collierville High School as a regional site for this year’s tournament,” said Collierville Schools Athletic Director Jeff Curtis. “Shelby County, Tennessee has a large and passionate fan base for women’s basketball and our community will welcome the exceptional institutions and their programs to the My Town Movers Fieldhouse for an exciting event.”

All games will be streamed through FloHoops, with details to be announced soon. Check back at www.womensnit.com and on Twitter @WomensNIT.
