Collierville got it together, down 1-0 and trailing in set 2, after a time out by Head Coach Lindsey Vicknair in Thursday's sectional championship at Arlington. The Dragons prevailed, 3-1, to defeat the Tigers.

After a three-set sweep during the regular season over Arlington, the Dragons struggled out of the gate, falling in the first set 25-19.

In the middle of the second set, Collierville found itself trailing 14-9 and in need to regroup - that's when Vicknair called the timeout.

Collierville kept pushing and was eventually able to eliminate the deficit in set 2 and down the Tigers, 26-24, in a nail biter. Ultimately, that comeback effort was the start of a back-and-forth battle the rest of the way for the Dragons.

In due course, the Dragons came away victorious, winning set three, 25-20, and the final set 25-23.

With the win, Collierville (16-8) advances to Murfreesboro and a return to the state tournament for the fourth year in a row. Brackets are set to be released Friday to determine the path for the team's pursuit at a state title.
