The Collierville football team rallied from a 38-17 deficit and fell 38-31 to Arkansas Power, Cabot High School, Friday night at Dragon Stadium in the Landers SportsPlex.
With the loss, Collierville falls even to 2-2 overall. Cabot improves to 5-0. For Collierville, Troy Martin had a big day with 13 carries for 142 yards and a touchdown. Ethan Pettigrew was 16-28 for 294 yards and 2 touchdown passes. On the receiving end, John Hampton had four catches for 88 yards.
Defensively for Collierville, JD Mills had 8 tackles. including six solo stops.
Central Arkansas commit, and Cabot starting quarterback, Tyler Gee was 10-19 for 307 yards - with three touchdowns - to lead the Panthers offense. College coaches take note of Cabot junior wide receiver Braden Jay. The fleet-footed standout athlete caught four passes for 130 yards that included two touchdowns.
Collierville should be well-prepared for the upcoming district play with once again a very challenging non-league schedule. The Dragons will travel to Houston October 9, host Arlington October 23, and end the regular season at Bartlett on October 30. All games are slated for a 7pm kickoff.
