CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — The Collierville High School girls tennis team capped an outstanding season with a state runner-up finish in the 2026 TSSAA Class AA Team State Championship, competing against Brentwood High School in the finals.
The Lady Dragons showcased their resilience and talent throughout the championship match, battling point-by-point against one of the state’s premier programs.
Opening with doubles competition, the Lady Dragons battled with intensity. The No. 3 doubles team of Lilly VanFleet and Elena Chen delivered a thrilling performance, narrowly edging their Brentwood opponents in a 9-8 tiebreak victory.
In singles play, Collierville received a standout performance from Jamie Pritchett at the No. 1 position. In one of the most exciting matches of the day, Pritchett pushed Brentwood’s Suzana Shalkevich to the limit, splitting the first two sets before narrowly falling in a super tiebreak, 6-0, 6-7, 10-6.
Collierville also secured key victories in singles from McKenzie Taylor at No. 2 and Anvi Sampat at No. 4. Taylor delivered a strong straight-set win, 6-1, 6-3, while Sampat matched that result with a 6-1, 6-3 victory, highlighting the team’s depth and competitiveness across the lineup.
Additional contributions came from Priti Sinha, Elena Chen, and Anna Dace, who each competed fiercely in their respective matches. Several contests featured extended rallies and tight sets, reflecting the high level of play present throughout the championship.
The Lady Dragons’ effort in both doubles and singles competition highlighted the qualities that have defined their season from start to finish.
