The Collierville High School Men's Cross Country team capped off an impressive season on Friday with a 6th place finish at the TSSAA State Championships held at Shelby Farms. The Dragons tallied 233 points, narrowly missing a Top 5 placement by just four points behind Farragut (229). Independence claimed the state title with a dominant 77-point performance.
Senior Jacob Roper led the charge for Collierville, closing out his high school career with a standout run of 16:35.41, earning 36 points. Junior Pierre Kavouras followed closely with a time of 16:37.39 and 39 points, while his twin brother, Georgios Kavouras, contributed 43 points with a 16:38.99 finish.
Senior Thatcher Groce added 48 points with a time of 16:43.11, and sophomore Gabe Bullock rounded out the scoring with a 16:58.19 finish, securing 67 points for the team.
The Dragons’ performance at state reflects a season of growth, grit, and consistency, with strong contributions across all grade levels. With key returners like Pierre and Georgios Kavouras, the future of Collierville Cross Country looks promising.
