A pair of Collierville Dragons stood out as the top finishers from West Tennessee at the TSSAA Class AA Golf State Championships held this week in Sevierville.
On the boys’ side, Jackson Whaley capped off a remarkable high school career with a 3rd place finish, shooting -3 on Day 1 and even par on Day 2. His two eagles on the back nine during the opening round positioned him squarely in contention for the state title. Over his four-year career, Whaley earned 3rd, 5th, and 6th place individual finishes at the state tournament and was a key member of the 2022 State Championship team as a freshman. Jackson will continue his academic and athletic journey next fall at Belmont University.
On the girls’ side, Zoey Blaszczyk, a rising sophomore, emerged as the top West Tennessee performer, finishing 15th overall with a score of +20. Competing against a field dominated by upperclassmen, Blaszczyk’s strong showing signals a bright future and positions her as a state title contender in the years ahead.
Congratulations to Jackson and Zoey on an outstanding season and for representing Collierville with excellence on the greens!
