Collierville, Tenn. – Collierville High School is excited to announce the appointment of Joe Arkansas as the new head coach for the school’s cheerleading program. With over 20 years of experience in the cheerleading world, Coach Arkansas brings a wealth of knowledge, expertise, and passion for the sport. His track record of success, both as a competitor and a coach, makes him a perfect fit to lead the Dragons to continued excellence.
Having cheered at the collegiate level at Morehead State University and The University of Memphis, and coached at The University of Mississippi, Coach Arkansas offers firsthand experience in competitive cheer. His leadership at the University of Mississippi led to multiple accolades, including winning the DIA UCA College Nationals in 2025.
Under his guidance, his teams have consistently excelled, earning top placements in regional and national competitions. Notable achievements include:
• 7 State High School Championships
• 6 UCA Super Varsity Game Day National Championships
• 1 UCA Medium Varsity National Championship
• 1 UCA Super Varsity Game Day World Championship
Coach Arkansas’ coaching philosophy emphasizes not only athletic excellence but also the development of strong, well-rounded individuals. He strives to create a supportive environment where athletes are encouraged to reach their full potential while cultivating leadership skills both on and off the mat. His commitment to helping athletes build confidence extends beyond cheerleading, preparing them for success in all areas of life.
