Tommy Drogemuller and Cael Allen combined on a shutout to lead Collierville Baseball to a 3-0 win over Brighton Tuesday night at Patriot Bank Park.
The duo were outstanding on the mound, allowing just a pair of hits each. Drogemuller struck out three in 4 2/3 innings of work to earn the win. Allen fanned two and slammed the door for the 2nd consecutive night to pick up the save.
Dragons leadoff hitter Hayden Short hammered a double off the centerfield wall to leadoff the game. Short would score in the first inning on a base hit through the 4 hole by A.J. Greene. Cael Allen reached on fielding error that scored Greene and made it 2-0 good guys.
Collierville added an insurance run in the bottom of the 5th. JD Whitworth led off with a double down the left field line and later scored in the inning.
The Dragons (4-1) will go for win number five on Thursday when they resume action in the Lewis Harris Tournament at home. Collierville will host Dyer County with a first pitch set for 6:30pm.
